Counting Calories

A dear friend of mine, loves counting calories. I on the other hand have made a life of ridiculing the practice.  I eat what I want when I want.  I have always maintained a moderation is the key philosophy.   However it is kind of hypocritical for me to continue to act as such when the world is hungry.  I always have been vigilant about food waste but recently someone mentinoned to me their experience with counting calories for medical reasons.

I am not going to do this, as I just don’t believe it, just as I never weigh myself.  However I do see the value and thus am blogging it here.  Counting calories apparently forces you to eat less.   Eating less in this western world is a huge plus.

We eat too much food.

So if counting calories helps you learn to eat less, then by all means try a counting calorie program for 30 days.   If you have a smart phone or itouch you can get apps with databases to help you out.  Our recommendation is: “My Fitness Pal”

I think myfitnesspal.com is a great site. Part of living less is wasting less. I try very hard not to waste food. Talk about scaling down the large grocery shops and buying only what you need. If you buy vegetables with only good intentions of eating them, and throw them out – then either accept your obvious food addictions and stop buying them, or stop buying the crap and eat your veggies.
